Sniper Elite 5 in development, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered launches in 2019

The news comes from a Sniper Elite Development Update video, where Rebellion's CEO and co-founder Jason Kingsley confirmed that four games are now in development for the tactical shooter franchise: Sniper Elite V2 Remastered (the original, of which, actually appeared on Wii U back in the day), Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition especially for Switch, a new, standalone Sniper Elite game for VR devices, and the next major title in the series as a follow-up to Sniper Elite 4. Those games are as follows, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered and Sniper Elite III: Ultimate Edition. Check out the remaster in action above.

Sniper Elite v2 Remastered is exactly what it sounds like.

New characters, more multiplayer modes, a new photo mode, and of course enhanced graphics have been added to the game.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered (itself a remake of the original game) will come out this year for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. And given that Rebellion doesn't flood the market with releases in the series means there's a lot gamers always craving more, but this won't be the case for much longer.

Sniper Elite V2 Remastered will bring 1945 Berlin to current platforms with stunning new visuals and a host of new features.

Meanwhile, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate for Nintendo Switch will also be arriving sometime this year.

For those who want to snag a picture of their kills (pretty morbid, but okay), the photo mode allows you to pause and scrub through the kill frame-by-frame to get exactly the right moment, line up the shot with ideal positioning, apply a filter, adjust the lighting, and snap for a nice battlefield memento.

Also announced was Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition.

I've always thought the Sniper Elite games were a touch underappreciated, so it's nice to see Rebellion throwing their full weight behind the series. Fans can look out for more details soon. I don't know about you, but I'm very excited!
