Ford unleashes Grabber Lime for new Shelby ahead of St. Patrick's Day

Ford Mustang Gets Grabber Lime Paint In Honor Of St. Paddy’s Day

Specifically, it's the vintage Mustangs of the 1970s which inspired this new Grabber Lime finish. The announcement comes appropriately just a few days before the St. Patrick's Day holiday.

The retro Grabber Lime throws back to a similar hue from the '70s, and is joined by another new feature colour, Twisted Orange. "Aspirational and confident, they are fun, youthful colors that make a statement of how you want the world to see you and who you want to be".

But, with St. Patrick's Day approaching, the product planners at Ford couldn't help but show off the new mega-Mustang in a bright shade of Grabber Lime. Ford cheekily calls it "more potent than krypton-ite".

Indeed, giving the classic finish a modern makeover was part of Ford's remit, according to Barb Whalen, color and materials manager at the firm. If you count yourself among this group, then get ready because Ford's 2020 Mustang is expected to go on sale this fall. On the modern pony cars, particularly the Shelby GT500 seen here, it really highlights the car's aggressive body lines.

"These bright, vibrant retro colors are trending in design - in home furnishings, sportswear and even appliances", said Whalen.

Other bold colors will also be offered, including Twister Orange and Red Hot Metallic. That makes the new Mustang range-topper slower than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
