Grand Slam has put a target on our backs: Jones

Ireland were washed away as Wales completed a first Six Nations clean sweep for seven years - a tournament record fourth Grand Slam - and landed their first Six Nations title since 2013, while also climbing above Ireland to second in the official world rankings.

"Look, it is a very competitive Six Nations", said the 36-year-old grizzled hooker.

From there it was all about the boot of Anscombe, the fly-half converting three penalties before the break to send the hosts in 16-0 up at the interval.

Ireland - who scored a late consolation through Jordan Larmour - finish third behind England in their final Six Nations with Joe Schmidt in charge, while magnificent Wales' winning run now stands at 14 matches after they got the job done in emphatic fashion. "At the end of the day, the pitch and conditions are the same for both teams".

Sexton, the World Rugby Player of the Year, and scrum-half Murray were both called ashore in the final 10 minutes but Schmidt explained that he wanted to keep the pair on the field even though they were underperforming.

After the restart, Ireland's discipline continued to fail them and Anscombe continued to make them pay, the methodical stand-off going 100% off the tee and kicking the Welsh into an unassailable 25-0 lead.

"Particularly great to show what a proud nation we are over last 9 weeks", said Jones.

"We lost to two very good sides and we have to address why".

"The one thing I would say is don't give up on this team".

"Obviously, with the conditions being what they were, to go 10-0 behind so quickly was incredibly frustrating and it just puts pressure on you and pressure can do very odd things to you and we probably had to force it a little bit".

"If every time that isn't going well and you take them off then I don't think you're growing them back to where they need to be".

"But when you don't get that you've gotta earn something elsewhere and we weren't as good as Wales today".
