'Fortnite' Is Getting Reboot Vans, Which Are Basically 'Apex Legends' Revive Stations

Using a Reboot Van will attract a lot of attention, though, because the vehicle will light up and make a ton of noise, as well as provide information of how many players are being "rebooted". If you continued to play and didn't patch then this will not affect you.

Epic Games latest dev update reveals that the respawn feature will go live in Fortnite next week when the Reboot Vans roll out in update v8.30.

"Fortnite" is finally getting a respawn system in the form of Reboot Vans. It's up to you (or one of your surviving teammates) to pick up their Reboot Card, take it to a Reboot Van, and give your teammate a new lease on life. When one of your teammates dies, they drop a Reboot Card along with their other loot. Apex Legends' guns come from the Titanfall universe, and therefore tend to mix in sci-fi types like energy weapons, while Fortnite's are usually a little more traditional-but also throw in a few weird ones now and again, like the Boogie Bomb, which causes enemies afflicted by it to start dancing uncontrollably.

Taking a cue from EA's successful Apex Legends, the new "reboot van" will allow downed players in team games to be revived by their remaining squadmates. On top of that, Reboot Vans will be rendered unavailable for some time after it's been used.

One of Apex Legends' better improvements on the battle royale formula is how it deals with inventory management. Without reboot vans, a player who was eliminated in the early phases of the battle royale could be stuck watching their squadmates play out the rest of the match for 15 or 20 minutes with no way to help.
