Chelsea to seek bans for supporters filmed singing racially abusive Salah chant

Maurizio Sarri- Danny Drinkwater has no future at Chelsea insists manager Maurizio Sarri

On Thursday afternoon a video circulated online of a small group of Chelsea "fans" singing about Salah.

Klopp said that the latest incident of racism in football was a "sign something is going from outside", that it should not be looked at as a "Chelsea thing" and that the football community must kick people with these views into touch. It is still only a few people but the stronger the reaction from all of us the stronger it will help to avoid things like this in the future.

Working together with security staff, Chelsea managed to identify some of the hooligans before the game, with three of the six being barred entry into Sinobo Stadium.

Egypt forward Salah, who made 13 appearances for Chelsea before leaving for Roma in 2016, is a Muslim and has previously faced abuse about his religion.

"No, at the beginning of the match I wanted him on the bench because I thought that, probably, the match was really very hard", Sarri said.

Chelsea have assured they will take "the strongest possible action" against any supporters guilty of racist abuse after a video appeared to show fans targeting Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool FC continued by saying that the club was working with police to "ascertain the facts" around the now-viral video with an eye to identifying the individuals in it.

"We will continue to work with Liverpool Football Club to ensure that those who use the Internet to target others, and who commit criminal offences such as harassment or hate crime in doing so, understand that they are not beyond the law".

The Belgian has always been a thorn in Liverpool's side, with six goals and eight assists in his 17 appearances against Sunday's opponents, including four goals at Anfield while with Chelsea.

Four Chelsea supporters were suspended by the club for abusing Raheem Sterling during Manchester City's 2-0 Premier League win at Stamford Bridge on December 8.

"A player usually wants only to play, so I can not do anything". "You can tell all the fans out there to ignore it. Anyone who wants to talk to any of my players about what happened years ago - don't do it".

"It's all about the game on Sunday". Everything has changed, only the colours and names are the same.
