Facebook 'plans' to bring chat back into main app

Facebook messenger

He added that "tens of millions" of Android users who use Messenger as their default app would benefit from having end-to-end encryption enabled as a default. A tap on the messenger icon will provide the list of friends you chatted with on Facebook, to send/reply messages all you have to do is tap...you already know what to do.

At the moment it seems that this is only a test, limited to a small number of people, but it is likely that in view of the integration of the WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger platforms, Zuckerberg wants to return to the origin, bringing a greater number of users to the inside of the main application. Facebook says these individual apps will remain, and Wong believes if chat is eventually integrated into the core app, the Messenger application will be used to serve a different market.

Facebook could bring Messenger back to its main app as part of its strategy to merge all of its chat services into one.

If the news reaches to the user, then Mark Zuckerberg's social network, of course, Facebook will simply take a step back and allow the Facebook app to access the chat as well, hence, it will eliminate the need for Messenger installed on the device, which is very good for smartphones with low internal memory. This unification reportedly won't happen in full until the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020, but we might start to see the first signs of it with the next major Facebook app update.

What do you think about the possibility of Facebook adopting some of the features found on the Messenger app? The feature was previously removed back in 2014. At this time reactions, calls, videos, and photos are not supported.
