Nazem Kadri ejected from Game 2 after cross-check to Jake DeBrusk

Mike Augello - Boston to step up physical play in Game 2; Leafs vs. Bruins

Nazem Kadri was actually doing a decent job of keeping his cool.

On Saturday night, the Boston Bruins delivered a dominating performance, beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1 in Game 2.

Kadri was then felled by a knee-on-knee hit - again from DeBrusk - that resulted in him limping off before he eventually returned to the fray.

The date and time of Kadri's hearing has not yet been determined.

"It's up to the league to decide, to be honest".

You saw Babcock immediately make a line at the start of the game which made it known he was not a fan of the matchup at the start, he allowed Cassidy to realize that he can dictate the way the game was going to go. "In the end, Naz has someone else making a decision whether he's playing or not".

The Carolina Hurricanes clawed back from a 2-0 and 3-2 deficit to take their game against the Caps to overtime, but Brooks Orpik provided the game-winner to pull the Caps ahead 2-0 in the series. He's also been fined on three occasions - twice for diving/embellishment and once for an inappropriate throat-slashing gesture - making this the eighth instance where he's been tapped on the shoulder by the National Hockey League to explain himself. Luckily they have the next two games at home to get the matchup they want but a Kadri's status could impact that.

Babcock's options as replacements for his third-line centre include Marleau and William Nylander, but neither scenario is ideal.

"They had a push and we weren't really ready for it", Muzzin said.

Toronto Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri could be facing yet another postseason suspension.

"The only problem with Kadri's hit [on DeBrusk] is he didn't take the top f-ing row of DeBrusk's teeth out", Avery said.

The Bruins did let Mitch Marner, John Tavares and Auston Matthews roam a bit too freely in Game 1, and those issues were locked down in Saturday's win, so it appears Cassidy got through to his players.

Boston came out of the gate with a goal, hitting every Toronto player in sight and building a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes inside an electric TD Garden.

"Their level of urgency, as much as we talked about it and prepared for it, we didn't match it", Babcock said.

Andersen made terrific early stops on Pastrnak and Jake DeBrusk, but could do nothing on Coyle's opener.

"We understand that they're going to be pretty desperate".

"Now we've got to do something about that".
