Larger Samsung Galaxy Note 10 could get quad camera

Galaxy S10 S10+ and S10e

Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 devices over a month ago, and the devices were said to have sold in record-breaking quantities over their first few weeks on the market, with analysts expecting the phones to outsell the Galaxy S9 models by around 40%.

Hours later USA giant Verizon began commercial services in Chicago and Minneapolis, after rival AT&T made a 5G-based system available to selected users in parts of 12 cities in December.

Users of the new smartphone, which supports both 4G and 5G networks, will have to pay more for their monthly subscriptions than most of the 4G LTE plans as all of the telecom companies' data plans start at the mid-50,000 won range and go over 100,000 won for premium services.

Samsung's first 5G phone will launch in Korea on Friday, with prices starting at around $1,231 for the 256GB version, but you won't have to wait too long to get one in the United States, as the Verizon version is rumored to launch in mid-May. Samsung was also launching its top-end Galaxy S10 5G smart-phone, after South Korea this week won the global race to commercially launch the world's first nationwide 5G networks.

Samsung announced its new-generation flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone lineup in an Unpacked event held in San Francisco back in February 2019.

"We are at the beginning of a new era where the incredible speed and connectivity of 5G becomes a reality, bringing the world closer to Samsung's vision of connected living", said DJ Koh, president and CEO of IT & Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics.

"I watch a lot of videos often, movies and lectures", said buyer Shim Ji-hye, 38. "I'll be able to enjoy it in better resolution and speed". Unfortunately, the latter of those two upgrades has been the subject of multiple complaints since the phone's launch, the latest of which might be the most worrisome of all.

The US has pressed its allies and major economies to avoid 5G solutions from Chinese-owned telecom giant Huawei, citing security risks that technological backdoors could give Beijing access to 5G-connected utilities and other components.
