Liverpool's Klopp to put players through 'preseason' ahead of Champions League final

Pep Guardiola and his titles

The Merseyside outfit are aiming to go one step further than they did last season and lift the Champions League trophy, after having lost the final a year ago to Real Madrid.

Tottenham are expecting Jan Vertonghen, Harry Kane and Harry Winks all to be fit for the Champions League final on June 1, according to the Guardian.

Manchester City's title-winning players have been filmed mocking Liverpool in a song that refers to supporters being "battered on the streets" and "victims of it all".

"We have to do a couple of things in preparation for the Champions League, media stuff", Klopp told the club's website.

Manchester City have broken their silence on the Uefa investigation that could result in the club being hit with a one-season Champions League ban, claiming suggestions of wrongdoing are "entirely false" and that there is "comprehensive proof" otherwise. "We will do that, we will play that, (hopefully) win it, come home and then the people get what they deserve".

Tottenham Hotspur striker Heung-min Son hopes three-weeks rest will have him in "fire mode" for the Champions League final.

Whilst of Pochettino he said: "He's won what, which trophy?"

City will become the first team in history to win a domestic treble when they beat Watford in Saturday's FA Cup final and I see them repeating this level success time and again over the next few years.

"We have our idea, we have our plan", he said. It is not a preseason, but it is not going to be a holiday.

However, the Reds ended up in second place after Manchester City successfully defended their title and ended up a point ahead of Jurgen Klopp's men in the table.

Guardiola's City retained the Premier League title on Sunday, beating Klopp's Liverpool by a single point at the end of a thrilling title race. Grujic's agent already has four players at Frankfurt, and if the team qualify for Europe on the final day of the German season, it's going to be hard to compete against them.
