Grumpy Cat Dead - Beloved Internet Famous Cat Dies at 7

Grumpy Cat Internet Star Dies at the Age of 7

In a Twitter posted entitled "some days are grumpier than others", Grumpy Cat's owners said: "We are unimaginably heartbroken to announce the loss of our beloved Grumpy Cat".

She rose to fame in 2012 after Bundesen's brother Bryan uploaded a photo of her to Reddit, claiming a 'best cat on the internet' award the following year and raking in money for her owner.

Grumpy Cat, the million-dollar pet who became famous on the internet by virtue of her unusually ill-tempered facial expression has died aged only seven years old. She passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, May 14, at the home in arms of her mommy, Tabatha.

"Her petite size and famous face is likely due to feline dwarfism and her rear end wobbles a bit when she walks due to this; otherwise she is a ideal little kitty!"

"Rest in peace Tardar Sauce AKA Grumpy Cat". It allowed her to quit her job as a waitress at Red Lobster within days of her cat's internet debut, USA media reported.

"Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world - even when times were tough", she said. She even inspired a 2014 Christmas movie.

Our thoughts are with Grumpy's loved ones and her fans at this hard time.

In 2018, her owners won a $710,000 (£555,000) payout in a copyright lawsuit.
