3 iPhones, new AirPods and all that Apple may launch today

New watch faces are being added as well, something we're accustomed to from previous Apple Watch launches.

The new Apple Watch Series 5 will start at $399 or $499 with the 4G version shipping on 20 September.

Other smartwatches have had always-on displays, but Apple hasn't included the feature due to concerns over battery life.

The company also provided an update on its Apple arcade gaming subscription service which will become available from September 19 in 150 countries around the world.

It also has a built-in compass with other tools like an altimeter, and that should prove great for outdoorsy types. Apple has slightly tweaked the design with the new Series 5 Apple Watch, introducing a new always-on display.

The phone will also have new software, including worldwide emergency calling, which works with built-in fall detection to alert authorities should you ever take a tumble. Apple is putting it to work with a new Watch Maps app that now allows you to see which way you are facing.

Also Series 5 also brings is a new material option for the shell - titanium.

It drops support for Series 0 Apple Watch a.k.a the original Apple Watch released back in 2015.

Customers can use the new Compass app to see heading, incline, latitude, longitude and current elevation.

The Apple Watch Series 5 is official, and has just been unveiled on stage at the Steve Jobs Theatre at Apple's campus in Cupertino.

Apple is also giving cellular models of the new generation Watch the ability to make emergency calls internationally.

It is available to order starting today and in stores starting Monday (Sept 30). Now automatic emergency calling is worldwide, so you can quickly contact emergency services in a number of countries.

Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) is available to order in 41 countries and regions from today, priced from $399. If you'd like built-in cellular connectivity, you can expect to pay $459 for the 32GB iPad or $559 for the 128GB flavor.
