Nintendo's Ring Fit Adventure is like Wii Fit for the Switch

Nintendo's New Fitness Game Puts Joy-Cons in Strange Places

In a seven-minute long video today, we're taken through a demo of Ring Fit Adventure and what kind of content players can expect.

In the video you see embedded above, Nintendo says that Ring Fit Adventure is aimed at people of all fitness levels, as the exercise level can be adjusted and a visual guide will show players the proper form for each exercise. By all indications, it's a sort of RPG-meets-runner game, like, well... any game with "Run" in it. Players hold the ring accessory - which is called the Ring-Con - and can use it to maneuver their character as they run forward through the game's world (thanks to the Joy-Con leg strap accessory). The Switch's two Joy-Con controllers slot into these accessories to track your movement as you play.

There are challenges for different fitness levels and body types, and Ring Fit Adventure can be tailored to different players' level of skill. Ring Fit Adventure will launch on October 18 for $79.99 (UK price TBA), including a copy of the game, a Ring-Con, and a Leg Strap.

Engage those abs to block attacks in Ring Fit Adventure.

Other modes like Simple and Sets offer additional ways to work out.

Ring Fit Adventure is an upcoming Nintendo Switch game that will use the Ring Con, a circular controller that employs the Joy-Cons from the system to detect certain motions during the game.

Outside of the main adventure, Quick Play mode is a great way to enjoy Ring Fit Adventure in shorter bursts, allowing players to jump in and out of play. This mode is a great way to target a muscle group the player wants to improve, like legs, shoulders, lower body or core.
