Teen allegedly hired hitmen to kill her parents

Florida teenager arrested after using her parents’ debit card to try to have them killed

Alyssa Michelle Hatcher, 17, also used some of the stolen $1,400 to buy drugs, said the Lake County Sheriff's Office in a September 10 statement.

Hatcher was detained for theft and two counts of criminal solicitation for murder.

A friend of the teen told a school officer she had given someone they both knew "a lot of money" to track down someone willing to carry out the murder of her parents, according to a sheriff's detective in an arrest affidavit. "When it comes to something like that I can not imagine the shock you would be in as a parent knowing that this is my daughter-what my daughter meant to do", he added.

Her boyfriend also told a detective that he had seen the girl early Monday "at a known drug house where she advised him she wanted to kill her parents", the report said.

Hatcher then said she paid "a black male" $900 for the murder because the first "act was never carried out".

Authorities say they've arrested a Florida high school student on charges of trying to find someone to kill her parents with $1,300 she took from their debit card.

Neither plots were successful.

The mother of Hatcher told officials that she had noticed her debit card went missing before finding a piece of paper with bank information written down in her daughter's room.

During a recorded interview with investigators at her home, Hatcher allegedly admitted to the plot, according to the affidavit.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office said that Alyssa Michelle Hatcher was arrested on Monday (9 September).

In her report, the deputy said the suspect sent a second text to the girl saying, "I found someone to do it and it's going to happen tonight". "This was just somebody, who for whatever reason, just didn't want her parents around", Jones said.

A Lake County judge ordered Hatcher to remain in custody during a detention hearing.

"That's why relationships are so important", he said.
